Many of those students had reading disabilities, providing me with extensive experience in supporting struggling readers. “I am a mother of five grown children and six grandchildren. While my background is not in education, I bring a unique perspective to reading and dyslexic tutoring because I am dyslexic. I struggled with reading throughout childhood and most of my adult life until becoming aware that the science of reading can help one to develop the skills required to read and write. The Brain Friendly Reading program enabled me to acquire the skills I needed.

I am very passionate about this work because I did not get the reading help I needed until I became an adult. “First and foremost, I am a proud mom of four children. I have a Masters in Special Education.  I have over 20 years of teaching experience in both public and private schools and have learned so much from my four children who all have reading and/or math learning disabilities. Currently, my primary focus is on reading intervention and early intervention. In addition to English reading intervention, I also specialize in teaching children to read HEBREW.”

I'm also a certified BFR Trainer, and I've been applying this training in first and second-grade classrooms for the past two years. Plus, I'm a Michigan Literacy Profile Trainer.
