Each trainee will receive:
- 30-hours of training (in-person or on-line)
- A practice teaching experience
- Personal mentor (master tutor)
- Weekly group coaching sessions
- Certification as a Highly Skilled Reading Tutor
- 10-15 hours of small business skills training in how to start a tutoring business as well as on-going support to maintain it
Mentoring
You'll be paired with a master tutor who will mentor you throughout the training program. You will meet weekly on-line to get your questions answered and practice your newfound skills. Your mentor will help you grow your confidence and abilities over the course of the coming year.
Practice Teaching
As a new tutor you will benefit from on-going support as you practice implementing the strategies you have been taught with children. After completing the training, you will have the opportunity to tutor and get feedback from your mentor who will observe you working with a child.
